Favorite Show: Honestly, none. This past Sunday's show at ScotiaBank Place (October 14, 2007) was a major disappointment. I can't believe that I paid over $132.00 (taxes and surcharges included) to stand in General Admission (something only the greediest artists and promoters still resort to in this day and age), only to wait for the band to show up on stage forty-five minutes after the stated time on the ticket! Worse, I had to suffer through drunken, frat boy behaviour from people shoving their way to the front, spilling beer, screaming (not talking) comments about the show in progress and shows seen ealier in the tour as well as on previous tours. A fan's enthusiasm is all well and good, but the jerks around me were conspicuous in their obnoxious behaviour: one could have easily taken their screams of "Bruce" for "brews"! The sound was dreadful for the first six songs, with the high-end of the high-hat cymbal and the female backing vocals coming out as especially shrill. For the first two songs, Lofgren's and Van Zandt's guitars were barely audible, which was made worse by the behaviour of the aforementioned drunken idiots talking through the show. Also, Weinberg's snare on "Tougher Than the Rest" was way too loud at the beginning, and sounded as though it had broken snare wires. Midway through the song, this was corrected. Furthermore, the appearance of the couple from Arcade Fire was not that great, and I'd rather have heard Springsteen play his own material than hear any Arcade Fire tune. "State Trooper" didn't sound any greater because of the presence of members of one of the most over-hyped bands in the world today. Also, what's the deal with the two microphones at the rear by the sound console? Does Springsteen 'goose' his crowd by pumping crowd noise back into the P.A.? I saw Pearl Jam play an incredible show to a bigger crowd at ScotiaBank Place a few years back, yet that appreciative and enthusiastic crowd didn't generate near the crowd noise of the Springsteen show. Enquiring minds want to know! Bruce Moment: At least there were several great moments in an otherwise lacklustre show. "The Ties That Bind", "The Rising", "Adam Raised a Cain", "Born to Run" and "Dancing in the Dark" are reminders that Springsteen can still deliver the goods, but sadly, a show must be judged on more than a handful of songs. Face it: when ones notices a guy in his fifties text-messaging on his cellphone, one doesn't have to be a genius to guess that much of Springsteen's material from _Magic_ is not connecting with the audience.

He started to sing Twist and shout, which later changed to Do you love me? and La Bamba. It lasted nearly half an hour. It was wonderful!

They came back at 1:30 AM and we listened to every Bruce album about 5 times each. Wasted on beer and listening to Thunderoad is an awesome experience. I loved his music ever since. front row in Montreal March 2/08. I dont know how how many times we slapped hands, I even slapped his butt once! Also strummed the Born to run guitar.
another highlight was any of the shows in New Jersey, especially with the tail-gating outside Giants Stadium
Vancouver - Aug. 13/05. Devils and Dust was my favorite tour and this was the best show, just an incredible set list!
Ottawa April 18/03. His first Ottawa show since 1981! The place just went nuts and it seemed to push him over the edge; he was unhinged that night! Bruce Moment: Definitely was in Montreal last during during the Magic tour. I've been in the pit before but never right at the front of the pit! It was an experience I'll never forget!

Since I'm quite young (26) seeing bruce perform with the e street band after praying for so long that they would reunite was one of the best moments of my life!! My father who was an avid fan would tell me about the Springsteen shows he had been to when I was a kid and finally experiencing it for myself was surreal.

Favorite Show: Bruce played a great set back in 1981 at Wembley (4 hours plus!). I saw Bruce at the Giants Stadium and Shea Stadium was just great. Bruce did an awesome set at Wembley in October 2002 which I got into the pit area and also got to the front at Crystal Palace in May 2003. Bruce Moment: Last year I made a special trip to see the Vote for Change Tour and went to the Convention Hall, Asbury Park and met Bruce/Patti and Stevie. The whole day was fantastic and one that I will never forget! I have followed Bruce and the band for some 32 years now and they are without doubt the GREATEST Rock'n'Roll Band

Favorite Show: Toronto, 2002 Bruce Moment: The pit experience was amazing! There was no one moment, just a continuous series, from lining up with other Tramps to finally getting in to the ACC and thawing out, then seeing the band wander up the ramp and onto the stage. We were "elbows on the stage" in front of Patti and Stevie and I don't think my brother in law and I stopped grinning the entire night and then some.

I was hoping he would do NIGHT at this show, from checking out setlists from previous shows, AND HE DID! I was so thrilled! Bruce Moment: May 3, 2000 - Driving down to the ACC, guessing which song he would open with, I chose THE TIES THAT BIND. I was right!
October 7, 2002 - Going to Buffalo with my dad and uncle, just listening to Bruce songs on the American radio station. Got us prepared for the show!

Bruce Moment: July 14, 2005 - Solo Accoustic Tour, Air Canada Centre. Called TicketMaster on the morning of the show. Asked for 1 ticket as a lark...because I had tried earlier and it was sold out - and got a response: ROW 1, SEAT 43. Row 1 rushed the stage in unison after Matamoros Banks ended. He did a 4 song encore and during the third song just before 'Dream Baby Dream' he walked to the front of the stage. He shook some peoples hands to at the right side of the stage, then the middle, and finally stage left. He reached down with a smile and shook my hand - the very last handshake of the night. I said "Thanks, Bruce !" A night and a tale that I've told over and over and saved my ticket in the Devils and Dust jewel case. I left my FLOOR wristband on for a week ! Met superfan RICHIE from Germany (he was in row 2 wearing his "Richie Meets Bruce" t-shirt with a picture of him and Bruce in Amsterdam.

Favorite Show: Concert For Hunger Brendan Byrne Arena, New Jersey June 24, 1993 Bruce Moment: During the Human Touch/Luckytown tour Bruce stopped in Toronto for 2 shows. The first show I had second row seats with my wife. Having been to a few shows on the tour I couldn't wait for the Leap of Faith moment when Bruce enters the crowd. Well, when he did Bruce went to the far side of the stage but the morons almost dropped him. The very next night I sat in the exact same seats with my brother. We had a row of guys from Niagara and during Leap of Faith he scanned the front rows. He stopped dead in front of me and pointed. Next thing I know he's in front of me and I'm picking him up. We tried passing him around but someone had him by he boot and one lady had him by the butt. Those few moments have lasted a lifetime. The best part was that it was caught on the big screen for all to see. The worst part was that I never found it on video....maybe someday!

Ottawa: Reaching up and being able to TOUCH Bruce! (I was as happy as a 12 year old girl at a Backstreet Boys concert)
Massey Hall: Shouting out "EIGHTY-SECOND STREEEEEET!!!!) from the eighth row in Massey Hall, and hearing it seconds later. This was PROBABLY the song next on the setlist anyway, but in MY mind it was a request. (only one I've ever had, so let me live with my fantasy!)

And, for the last year and a half, I've been listening to boots of shows over the last 30 years.
It's been a great experience and really enhanced my appreciation of the live shows.

I am making this brief because it probably will never be read........but as a writer I only hope that one person hears something and understands it.I HAVE been very moved by Devils and Dust. .....not because I feel for every single man and woman in war.....but because we all have our own little war in our hearts. We all don't know who to trust.......where is home? And do you sacrafice the good to live and survive? Anyway, that's how I see it.I don't know my e-mail address........I just wanted to let an artist know that writing this/these songs make a differnce ....taking a a stand. KAE Ligonier . PA
